Summer is officially over and the mornings are starting to get crisper. That means it’s finally fall and time for Homegrown Hay Days. The 2021 Homegrown Hay Days will be held Saturday, October 16th and Sunday, October 17th. There will be 19 farms featured this year welcoming you to their farms to enjoy and learn about agriculture. This free event, hosted by the Frederick County Office of Economic Development, is open to the public and provides the Frederick community and families from across the region an opportunity to learn about the county’s diverse agriculture industry. Frederick county has a very rich agricultural history and this weekend encourages you to experience that.
The Homegrown Hay Days event provides hands-on activities at farms in the county for families and visitors of all ages. The public will have an opportunity to visit the 19 participating farms on a self-guided tour with activities like picking pumpkins, petting an alpaca, sampling award winning wines, mead, and ciders, enjoying hayrides around the farm, taking beautiful photos of the fall landscape and enjoying all the different amenities on the farm.
