Don’t have weekend plans yet? Let us help make your plans that everyone in the family will enjoy. This annual event features small family owned businesses in Frederick County that open their doors to the public to enjoy the beauty of agriculture and activities right on the farm. This Saturday, October 16th kicks off the weekend where 19 participating farms have a fun filled weekend planned for you, your family and friends. We challenge you to get outside, support your local business owners and farmers, and attend at least one of these farms.
From picking apples to getting lost in a corn maze the fun is going to be endless. The fun continues with playing in a bin of corn, taking a hay ride to get pumpkins, taking tours of farms, petting different kinds of farm animals such as an alpaca, and shopping local, homegrown products. For those over 21 and want to participate, the wineries and breweries have you covered. Go out and enjoy a delicious glass of wine or beer that was homegrown right here in Frederick County.
Homegrown Hay Days is a two-day weekend event that starts on Saturday October 16th from 10am to 4pm and will end on Sunday 12pm to 4pm. Each farm will have different offerings that you can find more details about here. Mark your calendars now, because this is an event you don’t want to miss out on making lifelong memories or starting a yearly family tradition.
Farmers provide more than the food you eat. They provide us with so much more from the time we wake up to the time we go to sleep. Let’s give back to them and support their businesses this weekend at Homegrown Hay Days!
