After long careers in the corporate and government worlds, the couple dreamed of a life more rooted in nature, beauty, and peace. In 2004, they purchased a 25-acre property with a vision: one day, this would be the place they’d retire, reconnect with the earth, and create something meaningful to share with others.

Fast forward to today, and Blue Dreams USA has blossomed into a unique agritourism destination. Specializing in lavender, roses, and Camellia sinensis—the real tea plant—this family-run farm is not only the only tea farm in Frederick County, it also holds the distinction of being the first tea farm in the entire state of Maryland.

After settling on the farm full-time in 2014, Imelda and Jeff recently made the bold decision to retire from their demanding careers and embrace farming wholeheartedly. Imelda, wanted to reconnect with her childhood in the Philippines, where flowers, nature, and gardening were part of daily life. Jeff, too, was inspired by his father’s background in horticulture and landscaping.

At Blue Dreams USA, you’ll find the sweet scent of lavender drifting through the air, rows of vibrant roses blooming with color, and carefully cultivated tea plants ready for harvest. In 2017, the couple opened their boutique farm store, inviting visitors to shop handcrafted, nature-inspired products, attend seasonal events, or simply enjoy the peaceful beauty of the gardens.

The farm is an FDA-registered facility that produces its own tea blends. Their membership in the U.S. League of Tea Growers and U.S. Lavender Growers Association reflects their commitment to high standards and community connection.

Blue Dreams USA offers more than fresh-cut flowers and dried herbs. Visitors can shop a wide array of value-added products, including:room with tea dispenser

  • Lavender sachets, culinary lavender, essential oils, and soaps
  • Preserved rose arrangements and handmade candles
  • Organic loose-leaf tea blends, created in-house
  • Artisan crafts inspired by the farm’s gardens—like hand-painted tea sets and quilling cards

Their afternoon tea and tea tasting events are also a favorite, drawing visitors from across Maryland and beyond. These experiences are offered by reservation only, providing guests with a serene, memorable way to enjoy the sights, scents, and tastes of the farm.

From the start, they dreamed of creating a place that would bring happiness to others. That’s why they’ve invested so much into making Blue Dreams a true destination. In the future, they hope to add a sunflower field and koi garden to continue expanding their colorful, peaceful retreat.

Blue Dreams USA is open to the public on weekends from June through October, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Picking lavender is available on a limited seasonal basis, and tea events require a reservation. During the off-season, their products are available online.
