Office of Ag Welcomes Jenna Zimmerman to the Team

Office of Ag Jenna

The Frederick County Office of Agriculture and Homegrown Frederick is thrilled to introduce Jenna Zimmerman as the new Agricultural Preservation Specialist. Jenna, a proud Walkersville native, brings a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted passion for agriculture to her new role.

As a sixth-generation farmer, Jenna was raised on her family’s dairy farm, where she developed a strong connection to the land and livestock. Her upbringing instilled in her a profound respect for the agricultural industry and its vital role in the local community.

Jenna pursued her academic and athletic interests at Mount Saint Mary’s University, where she studied business finance while playing Division I softball. After graduating, Jenna spent eight years in the mortgage field, where she gained valuable experience in financial management.

Despite her success in the mortgage industry, Jenna felt a strong pull back to her roots. Four years ago, she transitioned back to her family’s dairy farm, taking on a wide range of responsibilities. From milking 250 cows to planting crops and tackling various jobs around the farm, Jenna’s versatility and dedication were evident. Sadly, the family farm sold its last cows in May, marking the end of an era.

However, this new chapter brings exciting opportunities for Jenna. As the Agricultural Preservation Specialist, she is eager to channel her passion for agriculture into preserving and promoting the industry within Frederick County. Jenna is committed to ensuring that agriculture remains a viable and thriving part of the local community.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Jenna enjoys staying active and spending time with her family and fiancé, Chris. She competes in several duckpin bowling leagues every week, loves to fish, recently got into playing Shuffleboard, and cherishes creating memories with her six nieces and nephews.
