It’s almost time for one of Frederick County’s favorite fall traditions—The Great Frederick Fair—and the Frederick County Office of Agriculture is excited to be a Grand Champion Sponsor and part of the celebration! Whether you’re a long-time supporter of local agriculture or just curious to learn more, there are plenty of ways to connect with us and explore Frederick County’s thriving ag industry throughout Fair Week. Don’t miss out – visit the county’s largest agricultural classroom September 12-20!

📍 Where to Find Us
Stop by the City Streets Country Roads Building, where you’ll find the Office of Agriculture display. Be sure to pick up the latest issue of Homegrown Frederick magazine while you’re there! Throughout the week, staff will be walking around the grounds, attending shows, visiting barns and exhibits excited to connect with farmers and those aspiring to become a farmer.

  • 🏆 Ag Awards Presentation – September 12, 7pm in the Dairy Show Ring, Building 32
    Join us to celebrate this year’s agricultural standouts! We’ll be honoring the 2025 Farm Family of the Year, Ag Business of the Year, Ag Advocate of the Year, and Young Farmer of the Year. Come show your support for the individuals and families making a difference in our farming community. If you can’t make it to the ceremony, stop by the Farm and Garden Building (Building 14A) where you will find a display featuring this year’s award recipients!
  • 🍷 Homegrown Frederick Wineries, Breweries & Distilleries Showcase – All Week in Building 13
    Explore Frederick County’s thriving craft beverage scene from grain to glass! Learn about local operations and purchase refreshing beverages (ID required for all purchases/tastings).
  • 🌽 Taste of Homegrown – Various Times throughout the Week in City Streets, Country Roads, Building 44
    Meet local farmers, learn about their products, and maybe even try a sample! It’s a great opportunity to connect with those who grow and produce the food on your table.

  • 🏫 School Tour Lessons September 16 & 18, 10am-1pm in City Streets, Country Roads, Building 44
    The Office of Ag is proud to help with ag education during the Fair! Our staff will be assisting with school tour lessons, helping students connect with agriculture through hands-on learning.
  • 🍦 Ice Cream in a Bag DemonstrationSeptember 19, 2–4pm in City Streets, Country Roads, Building 44
    Bring the kids (or your inner kid!) and learn how to make your own ice cream with just a few simple ingredients and a little elbow grease.
