A: What I enjoy most is the opportunity to make a real difference. Planning events and outreach initiatives allows me to directly contribute to the understanding and appreciation of agriculture. I love the collaborative environment we have here, working alongside our dedicated staff, farmers, and community members. Promoting awareness and fostering a deeper understanding of the industry is essential to ensure Frederick County’s rich agricultural roots continue to thrive for generations to come.
Q: Tell us a little bit about your agricultural background or passion for the industry.
A: I wasn’t born into farming, but my interest in agriculture grew after meeting my husband, Kevin. Over the years, I’ve become deeply passionate and involved through my children’s participation in 4-H. I’ve learned firsthand that the agricultural community is not just about farming; it’s about lessons in hard work, responsibility, perseverance and the values that shape individuals, families, and entire communities. The more I learn, the more I’m inspired to share this knowledge and help others understand the crucial role agriculture plays in sustaining and enriching our lives.
