Frederick based nonprofit Farm to School (F2S) and Field Fresh Farmer’s Market to host first-ever community pop up farmer’s market on Thursday, July 13, 2023 1:00 – 4:00 PM. The pop up community market will coincide with Lincoln Elementary School Market Day event as part of Fun Activities in the Summertime (FAST), a summer enrichment program by Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) hosted at community school locations. The market will take place at Lincoln Elementary featuring producer-only vendors offering a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and other fresh grown locally made food.

Field Fresh accepts SNAP and WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) checks on eligible purchases and participates in the Maryland Market Money (MMM) program. MMM provides a dollar for dollar match on benefits up to thirty dollars. The program helps alleviate economic barriers to healthy food while supporting viability for farmers.

Farmers’ markets are hubs that connect communities to nutritious, locally grown food. Market goers have the opportunity to meet the farmers and learn how the food they purchase is grown. F2S is dedicated to creating equal access to affordable fresh fruits and vegetables as part of their mission. The organization has actively been exploring opportunities to create pathways for community markets removing barriers preventing access to fresh local food.

Field Fresh Farmers Market operates every Saturday late April – November 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Frederick Fairgrounds Franklin Lot A parking lot. Over 30 vendors participate in various weeks throughout the season. For more information please visit http://www.fieldfreshfarmersmarket.com.
